Alcoholics Anonymous Intergroup for Regina & Area

What is Intergroup?

Intergroup is an AA service group that involves a partnership among groups in Regina and area, just as an AA group is a partnership of individuals. Intergroup was established to carry out certain functions common to all Regina area AA groups, functions which are best handled by a centralized group. It is directed, supported, and financed by the Regina and area AA community in their general interest. Intergroup exists to aid groups in their primary purpose of carrying the message to the alcoholic who still suffers.

The Regina and area Intergroup body adheres to the 12 traditions and Intergroup guidelines approved by the AA General Service Office. Intergroup is 100% 'responsible to' the AA groups and is not a governing body. These Intergroup representatives have the authority to vote the conscience of their home group on issues affecting AA in Regina and area. Each AA group in the Regina area should have an Intergroup representative and/or an alternate. There are approximately 60 registered groups in the Regina Area. If your group isn't represented at Intergroup then your group conscience is not being heard and your group is missing out.

Alcoholics Anonymous Intergroup in Regina is made up of 16 executive positions and its committee members.  The representatives, the elected Intergroup table officers, committee chairpersons, trustees, and volunteers form the body which takes responsibility for providing the services requested by the Regina and area AA community.

These Group Representatives meet on the first Wednesday of each month - 7:30pm at St. Paul's Cathedral, 12th Avenue & McIntyre Street, Regina to discuss common issues regarding the Regina and Area AA community and to plan AA events. Smaller committees are struck from this group to deal with specifics of each event and issue.

The Regina Area Intergroup Office is 100% maintained through funds donated to Intergroup by participating AA groups and AA individuals. For more information on donations click here

The Regina Area AA Intergroup Office at #312. 845 Broad Street, currently stocks a good supply of Alcoholics Anonymous approved literature and pamphlets for sale to AA groups and individuals. For more information on Literature in stock and how to order click here.
